


Knitting made a bit of a come-back recently but we have never seen it on such a grand scale. Dutch designer Bauke Knottnerus designed the 'phat knit' series in 2008. This is knitting you can sit on, lie on, lounge on, snuggle up on - in other words, it's a unique take on something that filled (some of our) childhood memories.
You would need mighty knitting needles to get this underway - and in this case, they did. The pieces are actually made by oversized needles that are used to produce a variety of objects from carpets to seats.
I wonder if the inspiration for this series came from the designer's own last name...
