Theft Proof Bike

Claire Sullivan - Saturday, August 15, 2009

The bike of the future has been unveiled in the UK by Olympic Cyclist Chris Boardman. The new bike includes computer systems that offer finger print recognition, meaning only the owner can unlock the bike.  A mini screen on the handlebars also monitors your progress along your journey, including the ever important calorie burning statistics. In addition the bike features spokeless wheels, making it more aerodynamic while the tiles will be puncture proof. You may have to wait sometime however to ever get to ride this puppy, it's been launched as a cyclists dream concept only, with no immediate plans for development. Typical.

Pick your clothes up

Claire Sullivan - Sunday, March 29, 2009

A clothes rail that resembles a line of pearls...this may not be the most practical solution in the world (especially in a market that suggests we downsize our real estate) but it adds an interesting twist to the regular wardrobe scenario.

Infact, if you have the space for it (an entire room) you can have fun with varying heights and spaces.

Designer Hung-Ming Chen from Swedish design studio Hommin  explains that she wanted to do something different and flexible:

'It looks like a big necklace...it could be used to divide spaces such as in a shop. The design item is flexible and has other possibilities.'

I think she might have it sussed - but only if you don't mind pearls in large scale.
