New Zealand's Definitive Design Destination

The Anomaly Bench system is a concept design by Russian born designer Dima Loginoff. Constructed from steel the system is designed as either stand alone seating, or continuous seating for commercial use. 

Local designer Tim Wigmore takes old worn saddles and gives them new life as rocking stools, perfect for budding young equestrians.

'Muscle' 2009

'Y'

French designer Alexandre Moronnoz has introduced a new piece to his expanding urban furniture collection. Made from steel and named 'Muscle', he wanted it to resemble the tendons of a muscle - each metal blade compressing and stretching to be as dynamic as live movement. 'Muscle' joins his other works 'Y' and 'Intereferences' as design alternatives to standard commerical seating.

Designed by Hay Studio, the Mags Sofa is available as a 2-seater, 2.5-seater and a 3-seater lounge - and from personal experience, it's also comfortable with the back at the perfect height to rest your arms. We also like the artwork by Cathrine Raben Davidsen in the background.

Constructed by hand the P38 Chair gets its name from the P38 body filler often used to repair car panels. The malleability of P38 helps to give the chair its unique curvaceous form.

Designer Jaime Hayon and Nienke Klunder have designed the Rocking Hot Dog. Something every home should have in our opinion.

Jonas Lutz, a student from the Design Academy Eindhoven has created this crafty chair for Dutch manufacturer Leolux.

If your employees don't take you seriously - think about getting yourself a chair that not only subliminally says you're the boss, but is also called - Boss Chair. Perhaps you could leave the label on it if they still don't get it. Made in a range of fabrics or leather, it's another one of Antonio Citterio's creations.

Recent design graduate Kate Rider's Mariposa chairs mix the intricate visual appeal of feminine lacework with the masculinity of metalwork for a unique result for outdoor furniture.

The Indian Cove Lodge Armchair by Ralph Lauren Home, utilises tufting and cabriole legs for its classic appeal. As part of the new Indian Cove Lodge Collection which infuses the rustic elegance of Adirondack style with couture inspiration, it looks set to stand the test of time.

Looking like the wind has magically blown these leaves into the shape of a chair, Japanese design studio H220430's  Ivy Chair aims to remind us of the power of nature within the city. Reality and fantasy team up with this design to help celebrate nature with the white leaves adding a surrealist element.

Italian designer Paola Lenti is the master of textile innovation in the design world. Using old craftsmanship techniques combined with modern technologies, Paola Lenti produces woven chairs that are as suitable outdoor as they are in. The Afra chair is part of the new collection for 2009.

What looks to be carved out of volcanic rock is actually a chair cut by hand from 16 layers of expanded polypropylene foam. Blasco’s design is inspired by the relationship between rectilinear manmade structures and natural forms - intentionally leaving ambiguity about which is emerging and which is being consumed.
