A new trend in bathroomware? I beg to differ. The Egg Shower by Arina Komarova is a shower stall that completely encloses around you and acts as a shower, bathtub and hydro massage. It's not something I can really see taking off.

The new Philo ultra modern faucet by Rubinetterie Treemme has an unconventional shape for tapware with a minimalist sculptural look designed to emphasize aerodynamics and lightness with its smooth and flowing lines.
At the recently held World Architecture Festival (WAF), Grohe, launched a limited edition range of their ever popular Rainshower shower head. Winning the acclaimed red dot award: ‘best of the best’, the user can choose not only the shower pressure, but also the colour that best reflects their personality. Grohe conducted an on-the-spot survey at WAF, and shortly will release its findings: the most popular colour among architects.
Looking more like a serpent than a faucet, Zaha Hadid's new Triflow tap offers up quite a lot in terms of features. The three-way tap allows drinking water to be delivered through a waterway that is separate from the hot and cold water flow.

This relatively new collection by Grohe named Ondus fuses simplicity with emotion. Inspired by nature - but not organic, it aims to evolve the geometric boundaries of minimalism. With digital control, you can adjust and set the temperature for various activities: showering, brushing your teeth or washing your hands. What's even better, is they recognise that how you like it, will inevitably be different to your partner - a simple male or female icon allows you to have it, whichever way you want.

This dreamy bathroom collection is a far cry from the austere and minimalist settings we're so accustomed to these days. Aptly named 'Faraway', this collection by Italian firm Zucchetti marks the first achievement by Zucchetti and Kos as a group. They describe ''Faraway (as) the metaphor of a journey into real or virtual experiences: surpassing the ritual bathroom.''
As their most complex bathroom collection to date, with over 50 types of taps available - they still manage to pull of a touch of whimsical.

Without a doubt one of my favourite materials is marble. It always reminds me of Mies van de Rohe's Barcelona Pavilion, where gigantic sheets of bookmark marble line the interior walls, giving an air of modernist sophistication. To add a little modernist drama to your own home check out Spazio Casa's range of marble and stone basins and baths. Available in a wide range of coloured stones and marble, they can be custom made to suit any size requirements.
Italian bathroom manufacturers Cielo have taken their latest design cues from the Milan catwalks. With snake and aligator skins currently the de rigeur adornment of fashion accessories such as bags and shoes, Cielo have taken the trend one step further, into the bathroom. The Jungle range comes in various colours and styles, all of which give a leather like look to the ceramic surfaces.
